Many 3d Studios have in-house colour consultants to help you select colours for your project. This is not the case for all studios but most have team members who whilst may not be trained in it, are more than capable to get a great result. Bear in mind that this will often be an additional cost but can be very handy of you don’t have the selections already for your project.
We can’t stress enough though that having a qualifed colour consultant select the colour scheme prior to giving the project to the 3d studio is the best option hands down. This allows your stakeholders to have input into the project prior and reduces the cost implications of changes to the 3d Viz after the fact.
Seeing the colour schemes in Photorealistic 3ds will often incite changes as colours dont always look great together in real life , so see my post about changes here.
